Rue du Buci

Every neighborhood in Paris has a market.  While Rue du Buci is listed as a market, given the shops are here permanently and they do not have vendors setting up shop I never really consider it a market street myself.  That said I do like taking a stroll down the street.  There is a flower vendor, produce vendor, cheese shop and many more.  When the weather is warm the sidewalk is lined with chairs as patrons enjoy a glass of wine or coffee.
For years I would always see this man working at the fish store.  And then I returned one year and he was not there.  I have never seen him since and always wonder what happened to him.
I love admiring and eat the fruit that is on display.

This is my contribution to Weekend Cooking hosted by Beth Fish Reads.

Where else in the world can you go and find fruit, vegetables and flowers arranged so beautifully. It's a picture to look at! Great shots! :)

We just found out we're going to France in 2013! I'm so happy that I'll be seeing street scenes like this.

Okay. More details about France :-)

We just found out that the Missouri Botanical Garden is taking a tour there and we decided we would go, putting off our planned trip to England for another year.

We'll be in Paris and the Loire Valley, visiting chateaus and, especially, their gardens. Our tour guide, a friend of the current director of the Missouri Botanical Garden, has some association with the French National History Museum and the organization that governs French display gardens. She's so connected that we'll be seeing private gardens as well as public ones. We'll tack on a few extra days in Paris at the end of the tour since neither of us have been to France. I'm excited!
